FounderBrain

Terms of service

Last updated 7 October 2026

Who we are

FounderBrain is provided by Vela Partners Management LLC, a California limited liability company, of 1 Ferry Building, Suite 201, San Francisco, CA 94111, United States ("we"). These terms apply when you use FounderBrain in Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Muse or any other app that connects to it. By adding or using FounderBrain you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it. If you use FounderBrain for a company or other organisation, you agree to these terms for it, and you confirm you are allowed to.

The privacy policy explains how we handle personal data. Please read it alongside these terms.

What FounderBrain is for

FounderBrain gives feedback on how one person spoke in one meeting, compared with public interviews of founders and CEOs, so that they can decide what to try next time. It describes that conversation. It does not judge anyone's ability, character or prospects, and it is not investment, hiring, legal, medical or other professional advice.

Don't use a FounderBrain report as the only basis for a decision about a person, such as whether to hire them or invest in their company.

Using FounderBrain

FounderBrain is free and needs no account. We give you, or the organisation you use it for, a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it under these terms, which we can withdraw if you break them. You must be 18 or over to use it, and you must not use it if the law where you are, or US, UK or EU sanctions, forbid you from using it.

When you use FounderBrain, you agree:

  • to send only transcripts you have the right to share, to analyse someone other than yourself only with their knowledge and agreement, and not to analyse anyone under 18;
  • to use it lawfully, and not to use it to harass, track or monitor anyone, to build up a record of someone across meetings, or to discriminate against anyone;
  • not to overload it, get round its limits, or use automated tools to send it large numbers of requests;
  • not to try to copy, extract or rebuild its model, its reference set or its results in bulk;
  • not to send content meant to interfere with FounderBrain or the app you use it in;
  • not to present its reports as the views of the well-known people they mention, or use them to imitate or impersonate anyone.

If you find a security problem, please tell us at security@thinkreasonlearn.com. Testing that could harm the service or other people's use of it is not allowed.

To keep FounderBrain free and available, it has usage limits, both for each internet address and overall, and we may pause new analyses when they are reached.

The apps you use it in

You use FounderBrain inside apps run by other companies, such as Claude by Anthropic, ChatGPT and Codex by OpenAI, and Muse by Meta. Those apps, and what they do with your conversation, are covered by their own terms and privacy policies, not ours. We are not responsible for them, and the coaching those apps write from a FounderBrain report is theirs, not ours. If an app’s rules conflict with these terms, its rules govern your use of that app.

Your transcripts

Your transcripts stay yours. You give us permission to process each transcript you send, as text or as an uploaded file, only to produce its report. As the privacy policy explains, the transcript is held only while it is scored on our server and is then deleted, whether or not the analysis succeeds. We do not keep it or use it for training.

You are responsible for having the right to share each transcript. If you use FounderBrain for a business, and someone makes a claim against us because you shared their words without the right to or broke these terms in another way, your business will cover our reasonable costs of that claim.

Reports and well-known people

Reports are produced automatically by a fixed model. They can be wrong, incomplete or biased, so check anything that matters before you rely on it, and treat a report as one view of a conversation, not a final word. As between you and us, you may use the reports you receive for any lawful purpose, subject to these terms.

Reports compare the speaker with public interviews of well-known founders, investors and executives. Naming someone shows only that their public interviews are in the comparison set. None of them is affiliated with FounderBrain, and none has endorsed it.

The service

We provide FounderBrain as it is and as available, free of charge. As far as the law allows, we give no promises or warranties about it, whether express or implied, including that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, secure or suitable for a particular purpose. We may change, pause or stop FounderBrain at any time, including if the apps it connects to change.

Responsibility

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for any loss of profits, data, business or opportunity, or for any decision made using a report. Our total responsibility to you for anything to do with FounderBrain is limited to US$100.

If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care, and for damage to your device caused by digital content we supply; the limits above do not apply to that.

Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you use FounderBrain as a consumer, these terms do not take away any rights your local law gives you.

Ownership and feedback

FounderBrain, its model, its reference set and the design of its reports belong to us or our licensors, and these terms give you no rights in them beyond using FounderBrain. These terms cover the FounderBrain service. The FounderBrain plugin's own files are open source under the MIT licence, and nothing in these terms limits what that licence allows.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely, with no obligation to you.

Ending your use

You can stop using FounderBrain at any time by removing it from your app. We may stop or limit your access if you break these terms, or if we stop providing FounderBrain. The parts of these terms that by their nature should continue, such as those on responsibility, ownership and the law that applies, continue after that.

Everything else

If we change these terms, we will post the new version here with a new date. For a change that significantly affects your rights, we will show a notice on this page and on the FounderBrain page at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using FounderBrain after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.

These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about FounderBrain. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer these terms to anyone else; we may transfer them to a company that takes over FounderBrain. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.

These terms are governed by the law of California. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts. Otherwise, disputes go to the state or federal courts in San Francisco County, California. Before starting a claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it.
